After the first round, which will take place in October 2024, Capcom is preparing for the next one Wild monster hunters open beta testing. This officially starts on February 6 with content from the first test and a modern hunting option.
The meat of the modern content is the ability to hunt Gypceros, a returning monster from the series. Features from the first test include character creation, a story trial, and the Slay Doshaguma mission. If you have already created a character in the first test, don’t worry because this data can be carried over to the second one. They can also be transferred to the full game after launch, but this does not apply to game progress.
Watch producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announce the test and schedule with his own incredibly exact character below.
Two sessions are scheduled and you do not need to have a PlayStation Plus or Game Pass Core/Ultimate subscription to try this game. Here’s when you’ll be able to play, including cross-play between the three platforms:
Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 Schedule
- Starts: Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. ET
- Ends: Sunday, February 9, 2025 at 18:59 Polish time
- Starts: Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. Polish time
- Ends: Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 18:59 Polish time
There are also special bonuses for everyone who takes part in the beta tests. A decorative amulet for your weapon or Seikret, as well as an item pack, can be used in the full game.
According to Tsujimoto, they heard from many players who either missed the first test or just wanted to play again. This prompted planning for the upcoming test. He added that the team is still working tough to complete the game, making fixes and improvements that will not allow it to reach the second beta in time. We’ll see how these improvements work out when Wild monster hunters will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam on February 28.
