SEGA and RGG Studios announced that they will host Like A Dragon Direct on January 9, headlined by Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. The director will take a look at the modern features that will appear in the game. The direct will be available to watch on both YouTube and Twitch starting at 9am PST, 5pm GMT and 6pm CET.

The adventure, which will appear for the first time on Rich Island, will take Majima to Madlantis, a secret island where criminal organizations and the headquarters of the Pirate Colosseum coexist. There’s also Nele Island, home to the sacred site of Palenka, and you’ll also revisit Hawaii and the city of Honolulu, which was a key location for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The events of Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii take place after the end of the Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth story.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will have a ship to fight on the open sea and a enormous coliseum, ship boarding with combat and ship customization. At the Pirate Coliseum, players will take part in the Captain’s Tournament, as well as other events including Quick Skirmish, Madlantis Mania and Swashbuckler Showdown.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio previously confirmed a modern release date for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, and the game is currently scheduled for release on February 21, 2025, which means the release date has been pushed back by a week from its original date. It will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
