Do you know Nintendo Switch 2? This little thing that no one has speculated about for a long time and hasn’t been hungry for news? Well, some fans are now apparently so desperate for any clues that might facilitate them figure out when the reveal will come that they are resorting to tarot readings.

“Tarot Reader predicts that the reveal of Switch 2 is imminent” – reads the title of the latest post on r/NintendoSwitch2, which gained a lot of positive votes. The poster, user Future31, claims that a moderator on Famiboards with the handle Tangerine_Cookie recently performed a reading using his deck – one that, according to this user, previously predicted correctly the Metroid Prime 4 trailer was supposed to drop directly last June – and the conclusion that can be drawn is that the Switch launch is coming soon.
Of course, this isn’t something you’d glean from all the news about alleged Switch 2 leaks currently emerging.
According to Future31, the three cards drawn when the deck was asked about the Switch 2 reveal were the Five of Swords (reversed), the Nine of Pentacles (reverse), and the Four of Wands. The poster says these cards can represent things such as “compromise, moving on, openness to change, end of conflict”, “setbacks, poor investments, burnout, undeserved rewards”, and “celebration, prosperity, surprise, earned success and joy” appropriately.
This combination, according to the poster, indicates an imminent reveal. “The themes of compromise and the end of conflict signal that the great wait for disclosure is over,” they reason. “It’s time to move from speculating on Switch 2 to enjoying Switch 2 and move past the ‘what are we speculating about next?’
“However, there have been setbacks during this time! We know that the Switch Pro has been canceled internally and this generation has been a long time coming. Launch Switches are definitely burning out, and the topic of undeserved rewards makes it clear that Nintendo is still making pretty good sales numbers without fresh hardware. I’m assuming this impoverished investment might have something to do with Samsung, that fits.
“We will soon be able to celebrate the reveal and launch of Switch 2, with all the joy and surprises that launch will bring – something that will surely bring Nintendo a lot of money and well-deserved success.”
Sure, John. As you can imagine, this was the response from many of even the most die-hard Switch supporters. “This is solid proof,” writes one, “that we are crazy.”
Will Switch 2 be revealed soon? Either way, unless your fancy cards have a specific date and time on them, chances are they won’t be believed by anyone who hasn’t spent a lot of time staring at pictures of Joy-Cons.
