WWE 2K23 servers have now been disabled, with 2K disabling all online features of the wrestling game. This means that currently the only WWE game with online functionality is WWE 2K24, which was released in March 2024. WWE 2K23 was released in March 2023, which means that the game’s online features have been operational for less than two years. The game has already been removed from digital stores on November 1, 2024.

In its announcement about the closure of the WWE 2K23 servers, 2K wrote: “WWE 2K23 is coming to its final end. From January 6, 2025, the servers will be turned off. This applies to all online features such as online matches and community creations. After this point you will no longer have access to any online game modes, however if you already own the game you will be able to continue playing in offline modes.

In our WWE 2K23 review, Adrian said: “As a wrestling fan, I want to create five-star, classic matches, with back-and-forth action, near falls and iconic moments, but ultimately WWE 2K23 can’t make that straightforward. Clutter and overly intricate controls hamper these efforts, but it’s 2K’s obsession with players winning matches that makes this wrestling game completely miss the mark.

The server shutdown follows NBA 2K23 servers going offline on December 31, 2024, following their withdrawal from digital stores in delayed November. This is standard practice for 2K, as the company shuts down servers for huge sports games just a few years after launch to focus on the newest titles.
