- Atomic Champions is a newly released competitive brick-breaking puzzle game
- Take turns breaking as many blocks as possible and outdoing your opponent
- Use distinctive power-up cards to gain an advantage and come out on top
When it comes to competitive puzzles, I feel like we’ve already discovered a lot. You have your classic board games, your unique takes like PvP tower defense, and even the occasional competitive match-three match! So it’s surprising that I haven’t seen many (if any) competitive brick breakers so far.
The gameplay of Atomic Champions is plain and not too complicated. You take turns shooting bricks, just like in any other game of this genre, and try to get a higher score than your opponent. But with a quick twist, you can employ power-up cards to change your tactics, giving you a better chance of winning if you play shrewd.
Atomic Champions has plenty of depth to keep you hooked, even if you’re not a brick-breaking gamer. Considering it comes from the creators behind the equally iconic Food Inc, I certainly wouldn’t doubt their capabilities.
Blow up the brick
There’s not much more that can be said in a good way about Atomic Champions. Although I wonder if it can have the depth it claims to have to keep people playing. The brick-breaking puzzles are actually some of my favorites, but I’m not sure I’m comfortable playing them competitively.
On the other hand, even if I’m not the target audience, I’m sure some of you are. Then don’t hesitate, now you can find Atomic Champions on iOS and Android for free!
