The Space Marine 2 content train won’t stop in 2025, and Saber has revealed what to expect

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 developer Saber Interactive has revealed a bit of what we can expect from the co-operative shooter in 2025. Just before the end of 2024, the studio published a roadmap of sorts that includes various pieces of novel content coming in 2025.

While the 2025 calendar looks (understandably) a bit brighter compared to last year, we If obtaining novel PvE and PvP content.

Starting with PvE, the biggest news is undoubtedly the arrival of Horde mode, which Saber confirmed last year. Unfortunately, we still don’t have a release date, and it looks like it won’t be coming to the game until “later 2025.”

In the near future, Season 3 will introduce the Prestige Rank, which will provide novel upgrades for various classes. The blog post also confirmed that Space Marine 2 will receive novel operations and novel enemies. Those who have already mastered the current content will be joyful to know that a novel difficulty level is in the works, and with it there will be novel rewards to unlock.

PvP looks no less electrifying thanks to a novel map that takes place indoors, with narrow corridors and a layout that encourages close-quarters combat. 2025 will also mark the official arrival of custom lobbies, which will be available as part of Update 7.0. The system will offer the ability to choose from several basic modifiers, as well as control the number of players in the match (though no more than 6 out of 6). Other parameters such as round time limit and score are also available. Even more electrifying news is that you’ll be able to allow more than two players in one class, which means all six of them can constitute one class – if you want.

In-game community events are also part of the 2025 calendar, and the first of them has already started and will be available until January 20. The Decimation event challenges players to win Operations tenfold. It’s quite doable, and completing it nets you the Chainsword Mark 11 Hell’s Teeth Pattern skin.

The cosmetic content lineup will continue in 2025 with the release of The Salamander Champion, available in PvE and PvP. He’s a sniper, a class that hasn’t seen much love in terms of novel cosmetics since the game’s release.

Speaking of customization, more items will be added throughout the year. Saber showed off the Mark 6 Corvus as one of the novel items coming to the game. Additionally, you can expect Datavault to be available on the Battle Barge. This one is admittedly a little less electrifying, but it will allow you to learn more about the enemy and will also serve as another way to spend in-game currency.

Although it is largely a fairly uncomplicated video game, Space Marine 2 was well received for this very reason. This was one of my favorite games of 2024 and I will definitely be returning to it in the novel year to play the novel content.
