Stellar Blade creator hopes everyone “lives in love” after artist Naughty Dog’s rendition of Eve was unfairly criticized

For some reason, Naughty Dog has become an enemy of the Internet – or at least a vocal group of social media users. Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet has been attacked without precedent, even though we know little about the project.

And now Stellar Blade creator Shift Up has had to express his support for Hyoung Taek Nam, a character artist who has worked on games like The Last of Us, after some outspoken people disagreed with his interpretation of Eve.

It all started when a Korean studio sent the following quite amazing piece of art:

Although no All the comments were bad, others criticized the style used. “Don’t ever let Naughty Dog create art based on your work again,” one post said.

It was one of two illustrations by Hyoung Taek Nam, and Shift Up then published the second one with the statement:

“Artist Hyoung Taek Nam once again drew Eve for us. We are very grateful for this, but fan art in the style of the previous one is always welcome. It’s not uncommon for fan art to have more of the artist’s style than the original, and we think this is a very important and enjoyable point. The year 2024 was difficult not only in Korea but around the world. We hope everyone lives in love.”

It’s really nice to see Shift Up make such a statement and we know he’s a huge admirer of Naughty Dog’s work; director Kim Hyung Tae and his team visited the California studio during a recent trip to the United States earlier this month, so the two teams have a mutual respect for each other.

And why wouldn’t it be? These are two studios creating amazing games for PS5, so the more they can learn from each other, the better, in our opinion.
