A strangely tranquil and slightly high-pitched scream inside Hunter’s Collar this is one of the weirdest movie moments I’ve experienced in 2024 and more people should see it.
Hunter’s Collar is the latest product produced by Sony Spider-Man spin-off that will hit theaters. It’s also one of the biggest box office bombs of 2024. That’s impressive for a year with films like terrible Borderlands adjustment AND the Crow the remake that everyone forgot about. But because very few people have it Actually seen requirements, one of the strangest 20 seconds of cinema in 2024 went largely unnoticed. I hope to change that and share this wonderful scene with more people.
First off, here’s the very brief scene in question. Some context: the man wearing the backpack is (or will become) Rhino and is very irate when he receives bad news from the henchman.
If you’re like me, you probably watched this moment at least a few times before you jumped here to read this sentence. Seriously? What’s going on? I’m obsessed with this clip. While posting this here and writing this paragraph, I watched it five more times.
Everything about this is absolutely terrible. A lackluster set-up, a flat delivery, a backpack far too diminutive for the man, and of course the hissing but mostly mute scream and awkward silence that follows.
So what actually happened here? Perhaps this is how the actor wanted the character to scream at this moment? Maybe the director said, “Record the weird little scream, OK!”
My personal theory, which seems to be popular on the Internet, is that this pieced-together hit that was dropped in December with little marketing involved has probably been given a closer look by few people. Perhaps the actor on set was told to pretend to scream, squeaking a little while doing so, in order to later induce ADR in the form of screaming. This helps protect his voice on a busy day. But then someone… forgot to add the scream in post-production.
Regardless of the reasoning or thinking, the result was the strangest movie moment of 2024, which has sadly been buried Hunter’s Collara movie so flat and bad that no one wanted to watch it.
