The best teams for Harumasa in Zenless Zone Zero
Harumasa’s best band ever Zen-free ground zero will have him as main DPS, Qingyi as stun/sub-DPS unit and Caesar as support. As many may guess, this team will be as uncomplicated as you can imagine and rely on Qingyi to quickly stun targets before Harumasa enters the field to deal some uncomplicated Electro Quivers and massive damage. Caesar’s buffs will also be vital here, as she will shift the team’s damage skyward and allow the above to continue doing their job.
For those who, like me, could get Qingyi, Yanagi could act as a more than worthy substitute given her ability to deal massive amounts of damage while keeping enemies in a near-constant state of shock. Using Lycaon and Lighter can also work, given their massive stagger uses. Harumasa + Yanagi + Rina
Since Harumasa’s damage increases dramatically when hitting targets that are stunned or affected by anomalies, this team relies on using Yanaga to keep opponents shocked, all while having Rin have both a great PEN buff and the ability to extend our focused anomaly effect by three seconds are very much appreciated. Also, did I mention that she will also boost Harumasa’s Electric DMG by 10%? If you don’t have Yanagi, Grace will also work well in this composition.
When using the above team, remember to take Harumasa to the field only after you apply Smite, as this will give you instant access to six feathers. If you don’t have Yanagi or Grace but want to take full advantage of Rina and Harumasa’s synergy, Lycaon will be your best choice overall. Reason? His secondary ability increases the DMG stun multiplier by 35%. If you don’t have Rina, my top pick would be Seth given his Anomaly-centric build.
Asaba Harumasa + Koleda/Lighter + Lucy
This composition will be a versatile variation of our BIS ensemble his driving force in Koleda or Lighter while also having Lucy have a huge ATK buff. While it may be overlooked by many, I believe that Koleda is just as good as Lighter here because even if she can’t match the hero’s stun application rate, her 70% chain attack DMG buff can make a huge difference.
Since Lucy was available for free in version 1.3 and Koleda is part of the standard S-rank pool in the game, their variation makes this team one of the most F2P-friendly in the game for Harumasa.

To everyone’s delight, Harumasa’s top F2P team consists of two starting agents, Anba and Nicole. As you can guess, this team will be another variation of our BIS, in which Qingyi will be replaced by Anby. While not an obvious choice for those unaccustomed to her kit, Nicole will give Harumasa a great but situational damage boost via her 25% (up to 40%) defense debuff.
If she uses her signature W-engine, the Cunning Hare Leader becomes an even better choice thanks to her ability to boost her entire team’s damage against targets by 15% (24% at R5).

When taking either team over the field, I recommend using a Bangboo that matches their main element, as this will allow you to build anomalies faster and Harumasa will only be needed at the optimal moment. Here are the best Bangboos for all of Harumasa’s top teams:
- Harumasa + Qingyi/Yanagi + Caesar: Plugboo, and Electroboo is my main alternative. If you operate Yanaga, Agent Gulliver is definitely your best choice.
- Harumasa + Yanagi/Grace + Rina: Agent Gulliver if you operate Yanagi and Plugboo if you operate Grace or Lycaon.
- Harumasa + Koleda/Lighter + Lucy: Rocketboo, with Cryboo being the best alternative.
- Harumasa + Anby + Nicole: Plugboo from Electroboo is once again the best alternative.
