Greetings, fellow bored traveler who just wanted to have fun Indiana Jones and the Great Circle but I couldn’t play for more than an hour at a time. You’ve come to the right place. I also couldn’t deal with the weird head nodding that our hero does in this first-person game. Through a combination of tweaks to the settings in the options menu, I was able to make the game playable for me – and probably for you too.
Do you still feel dizzy sometimes? Yes. Would I still want the MachineGames team to remove the hairstyle completely? Yes. Please. But until that happens, here are my suggestions for surviving this adventure.
First, open the options menu and go to the “Video” section. In this section you can start by implementing my most effective change, which unfortunately will only be available in this menu if you are playing on PC and not on console. This suggestion is this enhance the field of view slider to at least 100. If you want, you can even enhance this number to 110; try different levels and see which one works best for you.
The next options are available on both console and PC. Go to Motion Blur and set it to “off” (sorry for this particular artistic decision).
The last setting in this section that you can consider is the so-called “Picture Framing” — is at the top of the list in the screenshot above. I already have the whole game “Cinema” mode.which means that both gameplay and cutscenes have black bars at the top and bottom of the screen at all times. This is to make the game feel like a movie. Honestly, I don’t like the look of it (and I think it’s a cliché), but it seems to assist with my nausea.
We’re not done yet. Then go to the “Accessibility” menu.
Here you can also adjust the field of view and motion blur, but you already did that, right?
More importantly, you will want it set Camera stabilization to “on”, AND Shaking the screen to “off”.
Finally, try to sit further away from the screen while playing. This will assist with this problem. While in this menu, you can enhance the size of the subtitles to accommodate a greater distance from the screen.
If all else fails and you’re playing on PC, just wait until someone makes a mod that fixes Indy’s tendency to nod with every step – or a mod that switches the entire game to third-person mode (it’s definitely possible). Until then, we only have these patches.
