I’ve lost count of how many Yakuza games are in development at any given time, but it seems that developers Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have room for more on their plate. This evening’s Game Awards announced “Project Century,” a novel third-person fighting game set in 1915. Below is the trailer.

Here’s a stylish trailer. The scenery, the music, the rain, the pride – I’m eager to learn more, and not just because I know almost nothing about it currently.

Is this a Yakuza game? I have no idea, although I’m guessing not considering it only has a code name for now. But beating up bad guys with fists and bottles sure looks like a Yakuza thing to do. I bet this tough guy hero has a heart of gold, no matter how many people he stabs in the heart.
