Space Marine 2 modders have once again answered players’ prayers by including an ax from Secret Level’s Warhammer 40,000 episode in the game.
The Secret Level episode of Warhammer 40,000, titled And They Shall Know No Fear, is a sequel to Space Marine 2, with main character Titus fighting alongside his brothers to defeat the forces of Tzeentch. While Titus appears in the animation as he appears in Space Marine 2, this episode also features weapons that players have not yet seen in the game.
It sounds innocent enough, but the action scene involving the apply of the mysterious power ax steals the show. We see it used with brutal efficiency to tear apart cultists and Tzaangors. There’s even a super chilly moment where the Space Marine hits his helmet with an ax to force it into an upright position with his glove.
This is why I’m a fan of Warhammer 40k! Hats off @PrimeVideo for producing The Secret Level: And They Won’t Be Afraid. Watch here: https://t.co/Gf0i2d0Rus
I highly recommend watching the entire 19-minute episode. It’s addictive and amazing. It is a content, gloomy, obscure ray… pic.twitter.com/iuYxprAo2J

Following the release of Secret Level, Space Marine 2 fans have made it clear that they want developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment to add an ax to the game, expanding the arsenal of weapons they already have at their disposal. So far, none of them has signaled such plans.
Modders, as is often the case, stepped in to infringe. Astartes 2.0from Space Marine 2 modder Warhammer Workshop, has just released a fresh update that adds the long-awaited Secret Level-inspired power ax to the game, as well as the Space King’s chain ax and mace of hatred, along with a unique heraldry. (Space King is a fan-made parody of Warhammer 40,000.)
Overall, the Astartes mod adds a ton of fresh content, including Space Marine classes, reworked combat, and even fresh missions. Space Marine 2 has a blossoming modding scene that brings a significant number of improvements and changes to the record-breaking hybrid of melee combat and third-person shooters. IGN has reported on the Space Marine 2 modding scene multiple times, shedding delicate on everything from more detailed customization to Fix for one of the game’s biggest issues.
Officially, Space Marine 2 has already received patch 5, although Focus has already talked about what to expect from patches 6 and 7, which will appear in 2025. Space Marine 2’s Year 1 roadmap includes fresh content through to Season 4, which will begin at some point in 2025 (we’re currently in Season 2). Space Marine 2 will have long-term support, and data miners have discovered information about cosmetic items that will appear in the game until Season 9. IGN reported on this in-game availability of what looks like the Battle Barge expansion that will come to Space Marine 2 in Season 3.
In September, Saber inventive director Tim Willits told IGN how the breakthrough success of Space Marine 2 “changed everything” for the company. Eagle-eyed fans have already spotted the Space Marine chapter, and it’s all but confirmed that they’ll be getting a post-Dark Angels cosmetic packtoo.
