In addition to our sultry New Year’s wishes, we are elated to announce that version 5.3, The Passionate Ode of the Resurrection, will be available on January 1st. Starting on the first day of 2025, it is time to join forces with Mavuika, the Pyro Archon, and Citlali in the final battles against the Abyss towering over Natlan.
While the people of Natlan gather to turn the tide of their long war, the people of Liyue reunite during the annual Lantern Rite to welcome the modern year. A modern character, Lan Yan, and many venerable friends are waiting in Liyue to featherlight up the night sky with Xiao’s lanterns.
To add to the annual celebration, numerous rewards are available to claim, including Primogems × 1,600 and the modern Wings of Fate’s Course Intertwined Glider via in-game mail, Intertwined Fate × 10 via daily login, a free 4-star Liyue by completing the Lantern Rite event, and modern outfit for Xiangling by collecting Christmas Rush in the event.
Light the radiant path, burn the shady patches
After a tiny respite, the final battle arrives. Warriors, blessed with the guidance and protection of the Ode of Resurrection, will stand against the monsters rising from the Abyss in the latest Chapter V of Archon Quest: Act V The Ardent Ode of Resurrection. Together with Mavuika, Citlali and the other warriors, all efforts, including the power of the Lord of Death, will be devoted to banishing the darkness that threatens to swallow the land, no matter the cost. Additionally, the Pyro’s power will finally be granted to the Traveler at a crucial moment.
To enhance your combat abilities before the final battle, go to the cave near the Night Wind Lords. There you will encounter the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker, a powerful Boss who can move quickly and summon multiple clones in battle.
Once you’ve proven your worth, another powerful weekly boss awaits your challenge – the Lord of the Eroded Primal Fire, the Abyssal Mimic Dragon. Additionally, the Traveler Pyro may gain unexpected benefits in this battle.
Radiant Sun and Obsidian Star
Two ladies who will shine in the upcoming legendary war can be recruited to your team as five-star playable characters: Mavuika, Pyro Archon and claymore wielder, and Citlali, her tribe’s most powerful shaman and Cryo Catalyst user. Both illuminate the paths of their people with centuries of wisdom, exploration, know-how and martial prowess.
From the little girl of the Canopy Descendants to the Pyro Archon who dazzles and protects all of Natlan like the sun, Mavuika’s journey has never been uncomplicated. But she never wavered. After completing the latest Archon quest, the Mavuika story quest will be unlocked.
In combat, Mavuika can crush her opponents with her claymore or charge into battle on her Flamestrider, a unique construct in Teyvat. Her elemental skill can summon All-Fire armor, which can take two forms. Tap to cast “Divine Name Unleashed” and the Weapon will become Rings of Blazing Radiance, following Mavuika or the busy character and dealing constant Night Soul Pyro damage. Alternatively, hold to unleash Ancient Name Unbound, transforming her All Fire Armament into Flamestrider. While Mavuika is mounted on Flamestrider, she can deal Pyro DMG to enemies in her path. Meanwhile, if nearby teammates hit opponents with their normal attacks or consume Night Soul points, she can accumulate Fighting Spirit. Once her Martial Spirit exceeds a certain level, she can employ Elemental Burst to enter the Night Soul’s Blessing state while mounting her Flamestrider and perform a powerful Pyro area attack. With Elemental Burst, Mavuika will also enter the Crucible of Life and Death state, increasing her abilities and making her more resistant to disruption.
The Flamestrider is not only a weapon, but also a versatile tool for exploration. Equipped with a hidden spare propulsion module, it allows Mavuika to scale cliffs, charge over rugged terrain and waters, and glide through the air. Additionally, having Mavuika on your team will reduce the cooldown of your team’s Night Soul Transmission by 20%. Flamestrider burns across the land, unrestrained and proud, a testament to her unyielding spirit. Floating on the wind, the memory of the newborn lady’s confident words lingers: “I can shoot those cornflakes in your kitchen from here.”
The sun is shining brilliantly, but the stars don’t stop shining at night. As the most powerful shaman of the Night Wind Lords, Citlali can sense changes in the Ley Lines and feel the wounds throughout Natlan from the long war with the Abyss. Due to the damage suffered by the Night Kingdom during the war, he helps lost wandering souls who can no longer return to him. When not working, the respected “Grandma Itztli” prefers to remain alone in her remote home, surrounded by featherlight novels and snacks. She is also accompanied by her little companions Itzpapa and Citlalin, who not only add comfort in the form of cushions and pillows, but also provide various forms of support in combat and exploration.
During combat, Citlali can deploy shields and summon Itzpapa using her Elemental Skill. When her Night Soul points exceed a certain number, Itzpapa will deal AoE Cryo DMG to nearby enemies. Her Elemental Burst summons both petite companions and creates a Spirit Vessel Skull. When the skull explodes, it will deal Nightsoul-tuned Cryo DMG and restore Citlala’s fixed amount of Nightsoul points. Additionally, while Citlali is in Night Soul’s Blessing state, enemies hit by Freeze or Melt reactions have their Pyro and Hydro RES reduced. Can maintain the Night Soul’s Blessing state to strengthen your team when you switch to another character in battle.
Join forces for another year of adventure
Elsewhere, Teyvat Liyue is currently basking in warmth and harmony as its inhabitants prepare for the arrival of the Lantern Festival and the modern year. On the streets of Liyue, you can meet modern character Lan Yan, an Anemo catalyst user, as well as many familiar faces, some of whom will debut with a fresh modern look in the upcoming update.
The modern four-star character, Lan Yan, is the descendant and inheritor of the notable Qimen art. She is a graceful and agile craftswoman, praised as a master craftswoman in the Chenyu Vale Artisan Association. In battle, Lan Yan wields the Swallow Wisp Shield, a secret art that has been passed down in her family for generations. When he lunges forward and hits his target, he jumps backwards into the air. Furthermore, this dash attack changes the elemental type of her shield to Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro, allowing her to absorb the appropriate Elemental DMG and deal the appropriate Elemental DMG in return.
In version 5.3 of Event Wishes, Mavuika and Citlali will debut in the first phase, while the second phase will see the replays of Arlecchino and Clorinde and the debut of Lan Yan.
To recruit more Liyue characters, players can meet the special festival requirements and invite one free 4-star Liyue character, including Lan Yan. Additionally, some five-star Liyue characters, including Ganyu and others, can be obtained in the modern Chronicled Wish round.

Hanging out with friends is electrifying, and attending fun events doubles the fun. In Lantern Rite, try the Custom Gift Envelope mini-game to design envelopes tailored to your companions’ unique preferences. Additionally, don’t forget to create envelopes filled with wishes for friends, family or other Travelers, sealing your thoughts and memories in these tokens of affection. Also try Immortal Combat, a Tetris-like game that lets you employ rattan figures to gain power-ups and defeat opponents. You can also try lamplight drills, where you employ tricks during battle to enhance your score. Dive into these mini-games and earn more Christmas Rush to unlock a whole host of electrifying rewards, including Xiangling’s modern outfit, New Year’s Joy. Additionally, Hu Tao’s modern outfit, Cherries Snow-Laden, will be available for sale with a limited-time discount.
The festive mood is also expressed through music. In Repertoire of Myriad Melodies, the rhythm game feature has now been added as a lasting mode, and you can start playing, composing and sharing your custom scores at any time using a special gadget in your inventory. Do you want to take part in very hard battles? In “On the Trail of the Behemoths” you can take on challenges of varying difficulty and face four powerful Bosses alone or with a friend.
