If today’s Connections included the words Noggin, Nut, Helmet, or Bonce, I might not have had so much trouble seeing SLANG FOR HEAD. Instead, PALINDROMES were the first thing that struck me – though mainly because I couldn’t see how Swedish pop legends ABBA could connect with anything else, unless there was an hidden 70s Eurovision act called KOJAK, which is entirely possible.
According to Wikipedia, the longest palindrome in common operate is the 19-letter Finnish word saippuakivikauppias (soapstone seller).
Wikipedia also directs us to some palindromic expressions such as “Man, plan, canal, Panama”, to which one could certainly add “KAYAK” (or saippuakivikauppias) and the age-old question “Do geese see God?” “

What are NYT calls?
NYT Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games created by the New York Times. The task is to find groups of four items that have something in common, and each group has a different level of difficulty: green is easy, yellow is slightly more difficult, blue is often quite difficult, and purple is usually very difficult.
The advantage is that you technically don’t have to solve the last one because you will be able to answer it by process of elimination. What’s more, you can make as many as four mistakes, which gives you some slack.
However, it’s a little more complicated than something like Wordle, and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to throw you into tricks. For example, watch out for homophones and other wordplay that can obscure answers.
You can play it for free via NYT Gaming Site on your desktop computer or mobile phone.
