A staple of the survivalist genre, the bow can be a game-changer as you fight for your life against the terror that awaits you. Forest. But like most things in the game, you don’t get it right from the start. Here’s how to quickly make a bow and craft all types of arrows Forest.
How to make a bow in the forest
After recovering from the plane crash and starting the search for Timmy and the other missing passengers, you can make a crafted bow in the forest by combining 1x stick, 1x cloth and 1x rope. If you don’t know how to do this, you can combine the items in Forest by following these steps:
- Open the inventory screen by pressing I (PC) or down on the D-pad (console or if using a controller)
- Select Combine (right-click or R2/RT) while hovering over selected items to add them to the “crafting table”
- Select Connect when the gear symbol in the center of the screen fills up.
Once you’ve done the above, don’t forget that while the bow’s stats can’t be upgraded, you can always add a handy flashlight to it by connecting it to both the latter and one electrical tape.
How to get sticks, cloth and rope in the forest
Although you can get huge quantities of chopsticks Forest by simply collecting them from the environment, you can get Cloth and Rope as a spawn chance by opening the chests. Items can also be found in the open by exploring abandoned rafts, caves and cannibal camps.
How to craft all types of arrows in the forest
Now that you have crafted your bow, you can craft four different types of arrows, with regular arrows being the easiest to obtain. You can see how to craft them all below, but keep in mind that arrows can only be crafted in sets of five.
- Normal shots: 2x sticks + 5x feathers
- Bone Arrows: 2x Sticks + 5x Feathers + 5x Dice
- Fire Arrows: 5x arrows of any type + 1x Cloth + 1x Alcohol
- Poisoned Arrows: 5 any arrows + 4x Twin Berries or 4x Snow Berries / Can be replaced with 1x Jack or Amanite
While they cannot be crafted, players can also obtain Modern Arrows by opening yellow boxes while exploring the Peninsula. Since they deal much more damage than any of the above, I recommend using them only in emergency situations. Saving your arrows until you get the Modern Bow you want won’t hurt either.
