As you can already see in today’s title, after many considerations, we are forced to do this postpone the release of First Settlers to early 2025. We’ve been testing the game non-stop over the past few weeks, and while it’s a challenging decision, we feel like the overall experience hasn’t quite reached the level we’re aiming for; It’s very close, but not there yet. We hope to have a specific release date soon, but for now and with the holiday season approaching, we prefer to aim for (Very) premiere in early 2025, and then announce a specific date as soon as we think we have it. We apologize for any inconvenience this continued postponement may have caused: we really thought we would get it done before 2025.
In the meantime, while we are working on publication, the last section of the Encyclopedia of the First Settlers has been updated: Economics. First Explorers veterans already know this, but for newbies: this is the section to look for when considering the intricacies of the systems and how everything is calculated: building production, decoration points, energy regeneration, rankings and long, long etc
Many of the chapters in the Economy section remain the same or very similar to the First Explorers chapters, as many things worked quite well. However, there are also many fresh additions, such as the characteristics of each fresh building (decoration point effects, rental costs, level-up effects, etc.) or a fresh profit from landowner resources. Take a look and let us know what you think! And please remember: these numbers may change to balance the game in season. We always try to avoid drastic changes, but diminutive improvements are very significant as we receive more and more of your feedback, both directly and based on internal metrics.
We know that postponing First Settlers to early 2025 isn’t as high a note as we wanted to share in the last Medium of 2024, but we truly believe it’s the right choice: First Settlers is a massive release, the biggest yet, one that Confidently influence and shape the future of Continuum World: we want it to work like a charm. We understand your frustration because we share it, but we are sure you understand our decision as well. Many of you have been involved in this project from the very beginning, so you already know: This is not our first delay, but ultimately we have always delivered and will continue to do so.
