The world of Warcraft is notable for its extensive set of locations, from parched deserts to lush forests, but some of the most engaging zones are densely inhabited, such as Suramar and Tiragarde Sound. First massive patch for Internal war the expansion adds another such area with the Undermine, the goblin capital and a massive urban center unlike anything else on Azeroth.
On Thursday, Blizzard released a video from Undermine detailing what to expect in the goblin capital. Goblins were underestimated by The world of Warcraft; from their introduction until 2010 Cataclysm, they mainly served as goofy relief for the Horde. Goblin starting area in Cataclysm is similarly advanced, with cars, highways, and even a personal assistant for the player – but it was ruined by the appearance of Deathwing.
Some goblin collectives in update 1.1 (which has a clever name Subverted) were enemies in previous updates. Fortunately, they’re interested in working with the heroes of Azeroth and won’t hold any past crimes against you – so if you’re the type of player who murdered the guards at Booty Bay and gained a terrible reputation with the Blackwater Cartel, Baron Revilgaz won’t be hostile towards you.
Subverted includes a car that you can upgrade by working with the goblin cartels. Blizzard is introducing the DRIVE (Dynamic Revolutionary Improvements to Vehcular Experiences) mechanic with these goblin cars; they are much faster than ground mounts and even a little faster than flying mounts in the air. For anyone who wants to The world of Warcraft had more drift, this is the patch for you.
Subverted will also feature recent Delves (one of which has an alarming number of Void structures hidden inside), a recent Arena, and a recent dungeon called Operation Floodgate. Invaders can look forward to Liberation of Undermine, an eight-boss raid. Here, players can finally defeat Gallywix, an ultra-capitalist goblin who betrayed his people during the Cataclysm and yet somehow failed to lead the faction. Gallywix is actually in a giant mech built to look like his face.
Blizzard has not announced a release date Subverted still pretty good, but it looks like it’s an engaging spin-off Internal warexisting zones. The goblins’ antics will return to the larger Xal’atath storyline, so there will be some engaging secrets in store.
