The true horror of Fortnite’s Skibidi toilet crossover has finally been revealed

The terrifying and dreaded Skibidi toilet has finally reared its truly ugly head in Fortnite. The update rumor officially hit the game last night, and so far it’s sparking reactions of skepticism, confusion, and delight from the Fortnite community.

First, let’s talk about the crossover itself. We first learned about it earlier this week via leaks, and then the official Fortnite Skibidi in the Item Shop (discounted to 2,200 V-Bucks at the time of writing), consisting of Piston Pickaxes, a Plungerhead character skin, and two backpacks: one to match the outfit Plungerhead and the second with the iconic Skibidi toilet. There is also a Lego version of the Plungerman skin available.

That’s it for the collaboration, although with the recent return of the original map and Flush Factory, there’s already a convenient toilet-themed location just waiting to be inundated with Skibidi nonsense:

The addition of the Skibidi toilet to Fortnite is met with mixed reactions from the community. Some detractors believe that Fortnite has gone too far by including the popular meme, suggesting that it is juvenile and indicates a descent into complete absurdity regarding what is deemed worthy of cooperation:

That said, the huge majority of people seem to range from mildly amused to chaotically delighted, even those who have no idea what a Skibidi toilet is.

All in all, the verdict from the Fortnite community seems to be that the Skibidi Toilet addition to Fortnite is a good time, at least because the Plungerman skin is pretty cold.

If you, like some members of the Fortnite community, have no idea what this toilet is all about, here’s a quick summary: Skibidi Toilet is a series of tiny web videos by Alxey Gerasimov published on YouTube via Gerasimov’s DaFuq!?Boom! channel. When we say shorts, we mean very tiny – early episodes are just a few seconds long and were created with Garry’s Mod using assets from games like Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike. The series depicts a toilet with a man’s head emerging from it, while a mix of the songs Give It to Me by Timbaland and Dom Dom Yes Yes by Biser King are played. Although the early episodes are somewhat nonsensical, as the series progresses a plot emerges regarding an arms race between Skibidi toilets (there are many of them in different sizes and with different heads popping out) and a race of people with video cameras for heads. From there, the plot progresses, most recently focusing on a cameraman named Plungerman and involving the aliens Skibidi Toilets.

The whole thing, while absurd, is much more complicated than you might imagine by looking at the image of a head in a toilet. In fact, there’s enough going on (and it’s popular enough) that Michael Bay is reportedly working on a film and TV adaptation.

If you love Fortnite but the Skibidi toilet is still too much for you, don’t worry. The game has so many regular partners to work with that the toilet festival will quickly be drowned out by the next large thing, which will be Mariah Carey emerging from a giant block of ice to ring in the holidays. It’s almost time!
