The 6v6 experiment is coming to Overwatch 2 with some major balance changes

As promised, Blizzard Entertainment is giving 6v6 teams another chance Overwatch 2 with a novel time-limited experimental mode for its hero shooter. The 6v6 role queue experiment will bring back the team structure of two tanks, two damage and two supports from the original Overwatch for three weeks, as well as some huge changes, especially for tanks. Say goodbye to Roadhog’s Pig Pen, Reinhardt’s Double Charge Fire Strikes, and Wrecking Ball’s ability to share shields with allies in this experimental mode.

Of course, during the 6v6 role queue experiment, changes were also made to the balance of damage and support champions. Some damage champions will deal slightly more damage, while some supports will generate slightly more healing. The list of changes is long and worth familiarizing yourself with so that you can jump into the novel 6v6 mode with the right expectations.

Blizzard is encouraging people to log in during the ongoing Winter Wonderland event and is giving away three free skins for Overwatch 2 players who complete a certain number of games. Completing three games will earn you the Jolly Echo Puppet Legendary skin; six will unlock the novel cozy Cassidy Legendary sweater and an introduction to highlights; while nine games will unlock the elegant winter Legendary version of Widowmaker and the all-important introduction.

Back to the roots Overwatch thanks to the 6v6 role queue experiment, which brings back a structured 2-2-2 team composition for a circumscribed time. This mode combines the thrill of original six-player team dynamics with strategic depth Overwatch 2updated heroes and skills. The 6v6 Experiment will be available on the unranked menu from December 17 to January 6.

This mode uses a Role Queue ruleset of 2 Defender Heroes, 2 Damage Heroes, and 2 Support Heroes.

Map selection and gameplay are based on a set of quick play rules.

To adapt to the 6v6 format, many champions have received balance changes that better suit their abilities in the 6v6 format. These changes are specific to this mode and have been adjusted based on the latest champion balances from the December 10 Patch.

Base health regeneration timer increased from 5 to 7 seconds.
