Perhaps if we were in the middle of the tennis season I would have gotten there a little quicker today, but that said, CARPET does not automatically come to mind when we think of tennis surfaces. Probably a tennis rug is different from the shaggy fabric you’d find in a living room – although I like the idea of Sinner and Alcaraz kicking it in their slippers.
Meanwhile, the only reason I got the Green group is because I had a friend who was always talking about going to the main DRAG on Saturday night. – Are you going cross-country? – he asked constantly.
I must admit I was reluctant. A trip to the crowded bars and clubs in the city center may be the idea of a great night out for some, but for me it has always been a bit of a pain. I’d rather watch tennis. Or play Connections.

What are NYT calls?
NYT Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games created by the New York Times. The task is to find groups of four items that have something in common, and each group has a different level of difficulty: green is simple, yellow is slightly more tough, blue is often quite tough, and purple is usually very tough.
The advantage is that you technically don’t have to solve the last one because you will be able to answer it by process of elimination. What’s more, you can make as many as four mistakes, which gives you some slack.
However, it’s a little more complicated than something like Wordle, and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to throw you into tricks. For example, watch out for homophones and other wordplay that can concealed answers.
