Naughty Dog has announced their recent game, long in the works, and their first in a long time that isn’t a sequel. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is a science fiction bounty hunter game set on a mysterious, isolated planet. Below is the first theatrical trailer.
“Intergalactic stars our newest hero, Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who lands on Sempiria, a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe was severed hundreds of years ago,” he explains. Naughty Dog blog post. “In fact, no one who came to this planet in the hope of discovering its mysterious past was ever heard from again. Jordan will need to use all of her skill and wits if she hopes to be the first person in over 600 years to leave orbit.”
Work on Intergalactic has been ongoing since 2020 and the soundtrack was created by Atticus Ross. Otherwise, Naughty Dog is keeping much about the game under wraps for now, only stating that they aim to take on an “emotional, epic, character-driven journey” with the “deepest gameplay” of any of their games to date. Maybe that means it’s embedded in a hole.
I like the appearance of recognizable brands in the trailer above – Porsche, Adidas, Sony, of course. I imagine it can’t continue when you land on a strange, distant planet, but it always tickles me when the Person is in the future, but the person from the future knows what I know. I am a uncomplicated animal.
What I like less, of course, is that the game will currently only be released on PlayStation 5. It’s secure to assume that it will eventually come to PC, but there’s no guarantee of when.
