Easy swingand similar automatic shuttleare the default settings in Marvel Rivals that automate swinging abilities for certain characters. Used by Venom AND Spider-Man accordingly, they allow for automated swing mechanics… which are also quite imprecise and cumbersome.

What is Easy Swing (and Auto Swing) in Marvel Rivals?
Easy Swing is a Venom skill that simplifies the character’s Venom Swing ability by causing it to do so automatically shoots a web or tendril and snap into a physical point to anchor the swing. (Spider-Man has essentially the same settings for his Web-Swing ability, but it’s called auto-swing.)
This is a high-quality feature for beginners because it allows fresh players to get where they want to go without having to look up or around and do quick math calculations.
The problem with basic swing (and auto swing) is that the computer tends to pick strange places to put on the grid and it’s unpredictable. This means that with these settings enabled, trying to precisely navigate the map as Spider-Man or Venom is almost impossible.
Disabling Easy Swing and Auto Swing means your character fires his web/whisker where you aim. While this makes sniffing much easier (the Venom Swing and Web-Swing skills are not on cooldown if you miss), it also means you can aim at the exact spot on the wall you want to swing from, allowing you to set up a low and swift swing or a long swing with slight mouse changes.
How to disable basic swing and auto swing in Marvel Rivals
Because both basic swing and automatic swing are character-specific settingsthe quickest way to disable them is to load into the training field as Venom or Spider-Man. (You can turn off the settings without having to game as spider buddies, but it’s good to practice with them while you’re here).
Open the settings menu and select your input method (keyboard or controller). Choose “Fight” submenu.. At the top of your settings you should see a bar that says “all heroes” and next to it a yellow box that says “change hero” along with a picture of the person you’re playing as. Select the yellow box or press the “all heroes” button and select Spider-Man or Venom.
For both Spider-Man and Venom, you’ll find basic and auto swing options in the section hero subsection. Toggle Easy Swing for Venom or Auto Off for Spider-Man to improve your swing.
Before you leave the practice field, it’s worth checking out another option: hold to swing. By default, tap the swing button to swing, then tap it again to release. Some players find the default setting a bit clunky here, while enabling the hold to swing option will ensure that you swing for as long as the button is held down, and release it as soon as you do. Engaging the lock for your swing can really speed up your swing, so test it out in the practice arena.
