Game of Thrones: Kingsroad has been announced as a story-driven action-adventure RPG game coming to mobile devices in 2025 from developer Netmarble.

The trailer for the game, previously known only as the MMORPG Game of Thrones, was revealed last night at The Game Awards 2024 and shows the player character meeting Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister and other iconic characters from the HBO series.

“Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, faithfully created under the official license of HBO and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is a blockbuster story-driven action-adventure RPG that invites players to step into the immersive world of Westeros,” Netmarble said, dropping its previous MMO (massively multiplayer online) news.

“In Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, you will embark on a journey to restore the legacy of your house, forging alliances through trials and betrayals, as you navigate a kingdom full of intrigue, danger and opportunity. The game’s original storyline expands upon the story of the legendary television series, allowing you to forge your own path amidst the power struggles of noble houses and the looming threat of what lies beyond the Wall.”

Players can choose from three classes: knight, mercenary or assassin. Each “offers a distinct playstyle inspired by Game of Thrones archetypes.”

The knight class uses a longsword and has a “refined fighting style”, the mercenary uses a battle ax and has a “brutal fighting style”, and the assassin “employs agile and precise attacks”, wielding daggers with two swords.

Not much else has been said about Game of Thrones: Kingsroad despite being revealed in 2022, but Netmarble will likely start sharing more information as it gets closer to its 2025 release.
