Thick as Thieves is an upcoming stealth game from the creators of Thief and Deus Ex

Published:

I love stealth games. Everything from Hitman Down SplinterCell to the ancient man Thief games are my bag. Even horror movies that encourage you to hide in the shadows do it for me. I just love being sneaky (read: cowardly). So I was content to see that coming Thick as thieves will almost certainly tick that box for me.

The trailer shows off a novel stealth game where you jump around like the acrobatic burglar you are, robbing the opulent. What intrigued me even more was that the game was brought to us by some of the developers behind the game mentioned above Thief series as well Deus Ex; a classic of the genre, I’m sure you’ll agree.

In particular, we have Paul Neurath, executive producer Thief: Dark Design AND Thief 2: The Metal Ageas well as director Warren Spector, who worked on the original Deus Ex. We also have game designer Greg Lopiccolo who was involved along with Spector Thief: Deadly Shadows.

Overall good wrestling

And why? Thick as thieves will look like, the trailer above suggests it contains elements of some of the bands previous work, along with hints Defamed…and am I sensing a hint Happy few? Maybe just visually, but I’m still very excited about it.

It’s also suitable for multiplayer play, so you can “compare your cunning with rival thieves.” As for what this story will be about, well, here’s what Steam page must say:

Plot your path to becoming a master thief in a glittering, grim 1910s metropolis that combines industry, magic and intrigue. Your choices unlock unique playstyles and strategies that shape your thief character. Tell your story through a combination of novel multiplayer gameplay and vigorous storytelling. Immerse yourself in a living world where no two nights are the same, providing endless challenges and discoveries.

The game offers plenty of replayability, a opulent world set in an alternate timeline, and an “ever-changing, treacherous city.” So when is it Thick as thieves outside? The release date is unknown, but you can add the game to your wishlist now. The game will also appear on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as on PC. However, I have no idea whether it will appear on Game Pass yet.
