Warframe launch: 1999 with Warframe 59, four modern missions and lots of fresh expansions

If you’ve been eagerly awaiting a modern chapter of Warframe’s narrative, the wait is over – Warframe: 1999 has finally launched, bringing you four modern mission types and plenty of twists and turns to sink your teeth into. In particular, you can delve into Single Player Quests or explore the 59th Warframe called Cyte-09, among others.

In Warframe’s latest update, you can travel back in time to the alternate year of 1999 as you fight for the city of Höllvania against Scaldra’s army and the Techrot invasion. As for the aforementioned 59th Warframe, the Cyte-09 can assist you see through walls and shoot at unaware enemies – or you can tinker around with the modern Reconifex assault rifle and the secondary Vesper 77 pistol.

It’s all available in Höllvania’s modern environmental city missions, whether you’re racing a relay race against your enemies in a PvPvE clash or protecting Hell-Scrubbers from Techrot’s corruption in Hell-Scrub.

According to Rebecca Ford, artistic director, “Our 1999 what-if scenario venture was a passion project for many of us. We’ve done everything we can to add romance, music, action, and most importantly, core Warframe gameplay to this update.”
