Every character in the world Destiny 2 have their likes and dislikes, and it comes down to their cookie preferences. You’ll need to bake a different set of cookies for each NPC in Destiny and then hand-deliver them to receive your rewards.
Every cookie recipe requires an uncommon enemy ingredient, a sporadic killer ingredient and 10-15 Essence of Dawning – depending on whether you’ve baked every recipe and mastered your oven or not – which you can earn by completing the steps in Destiny 2.

How to get ingredients in Destiny 2 Dawn 2024
To prepare the recipes above, you will need ingredients that will randomly drop when you meet certain criteria while defeating enemies in the world Destiny 2.
There are two different types of ingredients: unusual enemy ingredientsAND sporadic killer ingredients. We have listed the ingredients alphabetically below.
How to get sporadic enemy ingredients

All enemy components appear when you defeat a specific type of enemy. While these ingredients are not guaranteed to kill you, they are very likely to appear.
- Kabbalah oil: Cabal Oil randomly drops when Cabal is killed. You can easily find the Cabal in the EMS, Nessus or Neomun.
- Chitin powder: Chitin Powder randomly drops after killing a Hive. The Hive can be easily found on the Moon, the Spaceport, or the Throne World of Savathun.
- Staff of Dark Aether: Staff of Dark Aether drops randomly when you kill Scorn. You can easily find Contempt in Savathun’s Throne World or the Dreaming City.
- Etheric staff: Ethereal Staff drops randomly when you kill a Fallen One. You can easily find the Fallen in the Cosmodrome, EMS, Nessus, or Europa.
- Butter taken: Taken Butter drops randomly when you kill a Taken. You can easily find Taken in the Dreaming City.
- Vex milk: Vex Milk drops randomly when you kill a Vex. You can easily find Vex on Nessus, Europa or Neomun.
How to get sporadic kill ingredients

Rare kill ingredients appear when you defeat an enemy using a specific method, such as a shotgun or melee skill. These ingredients can be extremely sporadic, and you may need to kill 50 enemies with your sword to obtain a single Hot Taste.
- Balanced flavors: Balanced Taste drops randomly on bow, sniper rifle, scout rifle, or pulse rifle kills.
- Bullet-shaped spray: Bullet Spray randomly drops when killed with a massive machine gun, automatic rifle or submachine gun.
- Dark Icing: Dark Frosting randomly drops from Stasis, Strand, or weapon kills.
- Delicious explosions: Delicious Explosions randomly drops from Class Grenade, Rocket Launcher, or Grenade Launcher (Special or Heavy) kills.
- Electric taste: Electric Taste randomly drops from Arc skill or weapon kill.
- Final touch: Finishing Touch randomly drops from Finisher kills.
- A flash of inspiration: Flash of Inspiration drops randomly when you generate Power Orbs with armor mods or Supers.
- Impossible warmth: Impossible Heat randomly drops from Solar or weapon kill abilities.
- Multi-faceted flavors: Multifaceted Flavors drop randomly when you score multiple kills with any weapon type or skill.
- Zero taste: Null Taste randomly drops from Void skill or weapon kill.
- Perfect taste: Perfect Taste randomly drops on precision kills.
- A personal touch: Personal Touch randomly drops from melee kills.
- Sharp taste: Hot Taste randomly drops when killed with a sword.

Unlike other holiday events in Destiny 2Dawning doesn’t ask you to go out and play some recent, unique activity. Instead, you just have to play Destiny 2 collect ingredients and Essence of the Dawning. However, just because there isn’t unique activity surrounding this event doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of other things going on.
In addition to baking cookies, in Dawning 2024 you will also find:
- Dawning – Exclusive weapons, including recent ones Mistral elevator linear fusion rifle with recent abilities.
- The return of the 2023 Dawning Souvenir, which comes from the Winter Night quest and makes your weapon look icy.
- Upgrades to your baking oven and the rewards you can receive.
- Static snowballs that you can now respawn when killed with your Dawning abilities or weapons.
- Winter-themed cosmetics in the Eververse store and through the challenge card.
- Stasis Dragon-themed armor available for both Bright Dust and Silver.
- The Dawning title you can earn and gild, which you need if you want to finally earn the annual Reveler title.
- Three unique Vanguard emblems that are part of the recent community event.
