Wholesome Snack rounded up some tasty teasers at the 2024 Gaming Awards

The A fit snack the presentation is calling all nice gamers and indie fans, with a whole plate full of up-to-date things to look forward to in the up-to-date year. While The Game Awards celebrated the delicious year of indie titles and, well, solid content we’ve enjoyed over the last 12 months, we also got a whole dessert plate of launch trailers and exclusive announcements to munch on until the up-to-date year arrives.

While we’re all still waiting (im)patiently for news on the Nintendo Switch 2 release, unfortunately we didn’t get any up-to-date information about Nintendo’s handheld device from the Wholesome Snack presentation. But there’s still plenty to feast on – the flowing water and wild swimming of NAIAD is now available on consoles, and the charming Pine: A Story of Loss is preparing to tug at our collective hearts when it launches on mobile and Switch on December 13.

We also watched some delicious demos, including the Bollywood-inspired RPG, Aikyam, and a fun city-building puzzle game called River Towns. There’s something for everyone at Wholesome Snack, whether you’re looking for something comforting and relaxing like NAIAD, or want to immerse yourself in a true, thought-provoking narrative like Pine: A Story of Loss.

What’s more, we’ve been treated to a slew of trailer premieres and previews of some invigorating, brand up-to-date titles, with a surprising number of ducks in the lineup. In A Waddleful Life you play as a duck raising adorable ducklings and discover the sanctity of an idyllic, serene park, while Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping takes you even more spookily to a haunted luxury campsite. Only you and the Duck Detective can take on this case, but luckily there is no murder in this mystery, so you don’t have to worry too much about anything.

We’re also incredibly excited about Pinbleton Park, because if anyone like us has played 3D Pinball Space Cadet on Windows 2000, they’re probably as intrigued as we are. This cozy solo adventure turns into one giant pinball table thanks to some cheeky country spirits, and you have to support your neighbors create the best pinball table you can.

The old-school vibe also draws from Wylde Society, where you play as Vivian Wylde, a witch, socialite and innkeeper in a period drama simulator. You can fully customize your own guesthouse in the fictional turn-of-the-century town of Fairhaven, where you can host dazzling events, learn spells and witchcraft, and choose who you invite to afternoon tea.

But most importantly, Wholesome Games has given us yet another treat, namely a mouth-watering selection of games courtesy of Humble Bundle. The menu includes Little Kitty, Big City, Fae Farm, The Ranch of Rivershine and Rusty’s Retirement, and proceeds from the package will be donated to World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit organization that provides meals in response to humanitarian and social crises.

Well, our stomachs are full after such a delicious presentation, but if you’re wondering what other great games are available, you can check out our picks for the best cozy games and best casual games on Switch. Or, if you’re looking for free stuff, you can get goodies in the best mobile games with our Infinity Nikki codes and Genshin Impact codes.
