I have a pretty nice 1440p screen and I want to buy an additional 1080p monitor for my dual screen setup. However, at the prices some 4K monitors are currently going for, one of the best budget 4K displays might just break my arm.
You can pick it up now Gigabyte M28U-AE for $399.99 at Amazonwhich is the cheapest price this monitor has ever been sold for. With a crisp 144Hz screen, excellent response time, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology and plenty of I/O ports, this monitor can easily serve as your modern home screen.
What makes this monitor very budget-friendly is its brightness, at just 300 cd/m2. This is pretty standard for monitors of this caliber and will be fine in most environments, but it may not display as you’d like if you place it near a window.
Also, the included overdrive mode is not very good and causes artifacts on the screen. However, when turned off, the screen is exceptionally tidy, crisp and has wealthy image quality. This makes it an especially good monitor for gaming.
It’s worth noting that it’s probably not a great purchase if you don’t have the equipment to operate it. Running games in 4K resolution can be a tough task, so you need a powerful graphics card that can handle it natively for games with top-notch graphics.
The M28U model I chose comes with an arm on the bottom so it can be attached to a stand and mounted on a wall or the side of a desk.
While this is the cheapest this particular monitor has ever been, you can grab it a stand version of this monitor for $399 on Amazon too. The standing model has seen such prices before, and some time ago it became even cheaper.
In our list of the best gaming monitors, we think this is the best budget 4K gaming monitor, and for good reason. It looks great and the price is even better.
