Players can now embark on a pirate adventure that promises to be a game-changer with fresh mechanics and rewards.
Pirate game loop
The Pirate Invasion update is built around a three-part game loop: Pirate Beacon, Safehouse Scout, and Boss Bounty.
- Pirate Beacon: more arduous excavations – Players can spend resources to activate the pirate beacon before miningwhich makes the run more arduous with random modifiers such as stronger enemies, lava pits, or complete darkness. Defeating the pirate mini-bosses in these reinforced digs rewards players with MapFrags, which are necessary to access the hideouts.
- Hideout Scout: Pirate Raid – Using MapFrags, players can participate in hideout scouting missionswhere they dig through asteroids, fight pirates and collect contraband. These missions are fraught with hazards such as collapsing platforms and high tides. Successfully completing these missions unlocks the next stage: Boss Bounty.
- Boss Bounty: Challenge the Captains – Contraband collected from reconnaissance missions in the safehouse allows players to participate in Boss Bounty missionswhere they will face pirate bosses on three floors.
