All Warhammer fans who got 40,000 after the release of Space Marine 2, they will be very cheerful to know that a TV series with Henry Cavill will be made on Amazon.
Back in August, it was reported that Amazon and Games Workshop only had until December to make a decision on Henry Cavill’s production of the Warhammer series. Well, it’s December and the decision has been made: it’s happening! The official Warhammer Community website shared an update today that the two companies have “finalized the transaction.” Answering their own question about what this means, the post explains: “Well, it means that we now have a synopsis and order of the stories we intend to tell…yes, we said stories!

“It may have taken a year, but it was a year well spent! And what fun it is – sifting through the vastness of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, debating the characters, story arcs and the thematic thread that underlies it all.” As for when the first project will arrive, the post notes that it will be “several years.” The first project will soon enter the proper development phase. Next up will be the script(s) that will form the basis of everything else to come. Of course, as with all carefully crafted things, it all takes time… and trust us when we say that everyone involved is focused on getting it right.

Cavill is not only involved as an executive producer on the project, but is also set to star in it. The former Superman shared his own statement on his personal Instagram, writing: “Myself and my amazing team, along with the brilliant minds at Games Workshop, have been working in the concept rooms, breaking down the mindset of the vastness and magnificence of the Warhammer world. Together we looked through lots of amazing characters and looked through venerable volumes and texts.
“Our combined efforts have led us to a fantastic place for the beginning of our Universe, which has been agreed upon by people in senior positions at both Amazon and Games Workshop. This starting location will remain a secret for now. But watch this space – more to come!”
Although the statement “a few years” comes from Games Workshop, at least the world of Warhammer 40K will receive an episode in the upcoming animated anthology Secret Level, also an Amazon series, which will be available to watch on Prime Video from today!
