Croteam has announced that it is bringing back The Talos Principle in a final edition for PS5, which remasters the original game and packs of fresh content, all rebuilt using Unreal Engine 5. It’s called The Talos Principle: Reawakened and is scheduled to arrive in early 2025. Check out the trailer above.
Its fresh content takes the form of a fresh chapter titled In the Beginning. “This fresh expansion explores the origins of the Simulation and the challenges of its first test, adding new layers to the game’s philosophical and narrative depth.”
The remaster also includes its own puzzle editor, allowing you to create your own puzzles. “This robust tool enables the talented modding community to build unique worlds and challenges, fostering creativity and ensuring a successful future for the Talos Principle.” There is no word yet on whether an upgrade path will be available for current PS4 owners.
The PS4 version of Talos Principle was originally released in 2015, and back then we rated the puzzle game a 9/10. “The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition offers a tremendous amount of high-quality, intelligent gameplay for science fiction fans and puzzle enthusiasts alike,” we concluded. Since then, there has been a sequel, The Talos Principle 2, which is equally well received.
