The next game from It Takes Two, Hazelight Studios, has been leaked online ahead of an announcement expected at The Game Awards next week.
Reliable transactions Leaker billbil-kun reported that the next Hazelight Studios game is titled Split Fiction and will be released on March 6, 2025 on PC and consoles (we don’t know exactly which ones). The reveal trailer is reportedly scheduled for release this month.
Hazelight is headed by Josef Fares, the charismatic designer of Brothers, A Way Out and It Takes Two, which has sold 20 million copies. The studio’s games are published by EA under the EA Originals banner (IGN reached out to EA for comment). Fares regularly appears at The Game Awards, and this year’s event is scheduled for December 12.
Split Fiction is the next cooperative adventure from Hazelight, which makes sense given the breakout success of It Takes Two. IGN’s review of It Takes Two gave it a 9/10. We called it “a spectacular co-op adventure that sets a path for great gameplay ideas and uses them to play mind-blowing hopscotch.”
It won Game of the Year, Best Family Game and Best Multiplayer Game at The Game Awards 2021 and the Work on the film adaptation is currently underway at Amazon Studios and produced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Fares himself teased the title Split Fiction in his tweet, and Hazelight also got in on the action. “I get a lot of questions about the next game.” Fares wrote. “Here’s the announcement. This is a BRAND NEW IP address called S*** ******N. I can’t wait to show it off soon🔥”
Now that you mention it, consider that you dropped it in the office @josef_fares? https://t.co/uh6AZAlrHL pic.twitter.com/oWv3Eew4M9
