Where were you during the Doronko Wanko Summer? I remember as if it were March, not summer, when a wonderful free game about a soiled Pomeranian was released. Yes, yes. It was definitely March. Loosely translated as “mud-covered dog”, the game tasks you with causing concrete financial damage to the owner’s home by spreading mud everywhere – first with a regular dog, and then with giant mud cannons. It can be downloaded for free on Steam Here.
It stole our hearts, indeed. Speaking of stealing stuff and having fun while doing it, the game is also coming to Nintendo Switch soon, which means the Steam version of Doronko Wanko will be getting free DLC for the occasion. It won’t be released until next spring, but when it does, it will bring with it three modern mystery dog breeds.

I’m afraid there isn’t much information available yet, although it was nice to see such a positive response to such a fun, free offering. It quickly gained “overwhelmingly positive” status on Steam. My current favorite review describes it as a “reverse PowerWash simulator.”
The game was released alongside two other freebies as part of Bandai Namco’s 2023 New Employee Training Project, which allows modern employees to gain experience and support in launching smaller projects before moving on to larger games. In fact, it seemed like that sporadic “completely depressing, unqualified” piece of gaming news. Although I’m sure one of you bastards will find a way to ruin it for me.
