“The Splitter,” as the fresh content is called, stars Van Damme as Max Valliant, a former ICA agent who somehow escaped a previous assassination attempt several years earlier. Agent 47 will have to infiltrate the rainy streets and underground data center of Chongqing, China, escorting an ICA executive, concocting Valliant’s “sinister plan” and ultimately eliminating another assassin for good.
“Max Valliant is quite a fun character, he brings a lot of the energy of an action villain, he is ruthless and of course he can do a split!” said Van Damme, referring to his own tendency to perform divisions in his films and acrobatics. “The Splitter is an exciting mission, and like any good action movie, Hitman players will have a few surprises, but I’ll let them find out for themselves.
As with all elusive goals, Splitter cannot be retried if it fails (restarting is always allowed, of course) and has a specific end date, this time January 12, 2025. Paid downloadable content will provide endless retries in arcade mode, as well as a new submachine gun, kukri knife and mission-based cosmetics. Finally, the new “Season of the Splitter” roadmap will feature three missions curated by the Hitman community, fresh contracts, and the return of elusive targets from the past.
