Ubisoft is shutting down Call Of Duty competitor after executive producer vowed it wasn’t dead

Ubisoft announced it XDUnrulyis a cross-platform, free-to-play game Call of Duty– like FPS, it will be shut down in June, even though the game’s executive producer stated that the game was not dying and was “doing well” in September.

XDUnruly finally launched in May on consoles and PC after numerous delays and a well-received beta version. Developed by Ubisoft San Francisco, XDefgiant came out of the gate with a lot of releases, positive reviews, and a solid amount of content. I liked it XDUnrulybecause it gave me a fast-paced military arena shooter that didn’t take up 160GB. However, in August it was reported that the game was not making enough money and was causing players to bleed. Ubisoft just announced it XDUnruly it won’t be any longer.

On December 3, Ubisoft confirmed that starting today, novel players will not be able to download the game XDUnruly or register a shooter account. The servers will remain energetic until June 3, 2025. Then the game will be disabled. Ubisoft says the plan is to continue releasing the game XDDefiant Season 3 content in the near future.

But Rubin argues that “the journey has become too long to reasonably continue.”

“Yes, this game has been a personal passion of mine for years, and yes, I know that not all challenges lead to victory, but I also want to acknowledge all the creators who are impacted by this shutdown,” Rubin said.

“Each of them is a real person whose real life is different from ours, and they all put a lot of their passion into creating this game. I hope they will be proud of what they have achieved. I know I will always be proud and grateful to have worked with such a great team! A band that really punched above their weight class.

Previously, Rubin had pushed back on the report from Insider games in August in which it was claimed that Ubisoft management was losing confidence in the project and that a decision on the future of the game would be made by November.

“I just want to quickly discuss the status of the game. so the game is dying. “No, the game is absolutely not dying,” Rubin said in a September blog post XDUnruly.
