Microsoft has announced that the games coming to Xbox Game Pass in December 2024 will be headlined by Indiana Jones and Great Circle, but will also include games like Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the long-awaited game from Wolfenstein creator MachineGames and Indy’s first real foray into the video game space. Players are tasked with uncovering one of history’s greatest mysteries in a first-person, single-player adventure, with the title launching on day one on December 9.
Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled is something completely different than a colorful kart racer reminiscent of Mario Kart. “Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled’s difficulty, memorable track design, and addictive sliding mechanics make it a kart racer worth playing, but it’s not without its frustrations,” IGN said in our 8/10 review.
Also in the racing arena, EA Sports WRC will be available from December 5 and will bring rally championship action to Game Pass subscribers. However, it was not as good a review as the previous entries. “EA Sports WRC feels like a great racing game trying to break out of an unfinished game,” we said in our 6/10 review.
The deposed one arrives the same day. “Pick up and throw anything as you build and manage your kingdom in this chaotic city builder for one to six players,” reads the synopsis. “Use the power of your soul-stealing crown to defend your citizens from bandits and mutants, farm and harvest resources.”
Aptly arriving in the dead of winter, Wildfrost is a tactical roguelike deck builder set in the town of Snowdell. The sun has frozen, and its survivors are the last bastion against eternal winter.
Turning the classic hero upside down is the next installment of the side-scrolling action game Carrion. “Carrion fulfills the fantasy of a horror monster’s power, but exploration becomes a chore that hampers the adventure,” IGN said in our 7/10 review.
Finally, wrapping up the month is Road 96, a wild and wacky procedurally generated road trip game. “Road 96 is a compelling and often tense adventure whose story manages to stay on track despite the odd bump in the road,” IGN said in our 8/10 review.
Those who don’t subscribe to Ultimate can also expect novel titles, as Xbox Game Pass Standard will get games like Forza Motorsport and Humanity, while Xbox Game Pass core will get DayZ and Goat Simulator.
Several games will also be leaving Xbox Game Pass this month, though those who want to continue playing later can save 20% off the full price by purchasing them while they’re still available on the subscription service.
