Early this morning, Pokemon TCG Pocket hosted a brand modern promotional pack event where players can battle the CPU for a selection of limited-time cards. The main prize is a special Venusaur with modern graphics.
This event is scheduled to last until December 12 at 22:00 PST / 1:00 EST (13) / 6:00 GMT (13) / 7:00 CEST (13). So there’s plenty of time to get all five cards available in the promotional pack. Bad news for those who saved Hourglasses from the Lapras EX event, it doesn’t look like these will carry over.

Up for grabs is of course the modern Venusaur, but also Onyx, Jigglypuff, Greninja and Ghastly. It’s definitely worth catching them all! Fortunately, with a promotional package that guarantees almost 100% from the highest difficulty level, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to do just that.
If you’re looking for a deck for Venusaur matches, any good fire deck will do. Our Charizard EX deck list should be great for those who have the cards, but you can also stay on budget by choosing Blaine’s Fire-type deck.
As for the future of Pokemon TCG Pocket, this event has been a major noteworthy event since the developers came out and laid out their roadmap. There’s still a huge expansion coming in early 2025 that should add some modern cards to the mix. So get these promotional cards, enjoy the holidays and save your Christmas money on some cards in the modern year.
