While Androids have some pretty unique gameplay characteristics, there is one group that stands out even more. Giant characters are, true to their name, enormous, lumbering warriors who tower over the rest of the party. Some great examples are Great Ape Vegeta and Hirudegarn.
This difference in size gives them many advantages. Any attempt to cast the Giant form will result in failure in almost all cases. They are also resistant to most Strike operationswith smaller characters only being able to activate Explosive Strikes against them. On a related note, only super explosive and energy beams will work and deal damage. Characters who try to exploit a Great rush against them they will rebound and waste their Ki.
Moreover, they have many common features with those from the Strength category. Their attacks, whether close-range or projectile, will take enormous chunks of HP and knock opponents into the air. Giant characters will also not stagger easily, remaining unaffected by Ki blasts and weaker melee attacks.
However, they also amplify many of the character’s failures with Strength. Such tardy attacks are straightforward to avoid for opponents who are constantly moving. It’s common for them to lose track and miss attacks, depending on their position. Players from the same category can also be an effective counter. Another Giant can cause stun in one hit and is the only one that can trigger a unique Power Strike. The latter probably won’t happen often, as it requires them to exploit the throw at the same time, even though their normal throws won’t work on each other.
