Unlike Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Rebirth won’t be getting any DLC, but it’s not like the director isn’t doing it just because.
Following the release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, many fans were wondering if there would be a DLC announcement, considering Remake got some in anticipation of the sequel. Well, it’s a no-brainer, as in a recent interview with Daily Stardirector Naoki Hamaguchi said that no, there would be no DLC, but he took the time to explain why not. “We’re definitely hearing interest from fans, voices that want this type of thing,” Hamaguchi said of those requesting DLC. “I understand that completely, but I think from my perspective fans don’t really necessarily want to see DLC. They want to see the third part of the series as soon as possible.

“That’s why we’ve decided not to focus our development resources on creating extra bonus episodes for the DLC. We’re really working hard to get the third game out as soon as possible. That’s it for now. where we focus our time.” That’s as good a reason as any!
The Yuffie DLC for Remake worked quite well as a transition between games, and in terms of characters that could solo in Rebirth, there are Cid and Vincent Valentine, but honestly I’m not sure what you can do with this form, and in case of the latter, there is always a chance that Square Enix is planning a Crisis Core: Reunion-style remaster of Dirge of Cerberus. I keep my fingers crossed for the Dirge bosses!
Our House also had a quick chat with Hamaguchi earlier this week, specifically about the director’s plans for minigames in the third and final installment, and don’t worry, he plans to change some things.
