The next game from the creators of Factorio may draw inspiration from World Of Warcraft

At the end of the week, a little preview of the story, taking care of the reader Maw MiniMatt. Factorio developers Wube Software have dropped the vaguest hints about their next game project, or at least shared one of their current inspirations: World Of Warcraft.

The message has a form summary article about the Factorio Space Age expansion, which we think is pretty decent. There are a few paragraphs about player stats, bugs, and the official soundtrack, and then a few words about future projects.

“This is one of the most common questions I receive,” writes developer Kovarex. “Well, I’m not really sure, but we’re playing with different ideas for the next game. Can we come up with something worth doing? Maybe.

“To clear my head and gather some inspiration, I decided to taste the world of Fresh World of Warcraft for a moment, you can find me on the Fresh server in a guild called Factory must Grow,” he adds. “The game I’m thinking about is related to WoW in a similar way that Factorio is related to Minecraft.”

And there you have it. I told you it didn’t last long. Yes, I’m currently squinting and trying to solve the following quasi-mathematical equation: (factory builder/block builder) = (multiplayer RPG/???).

Let me know if you come up with anything. Once again, a massive thank you to MiniMatt, who also tipped us off to the spiritual successor to Kerbal Space Program from the original creator of DayZ.
