The abandoned Gray Wardens fortress on the Rivain Coast in Dragon Age: Veilguard hides a tantalizing secret. Hidden deep beneath the fortress is the Gray Warden Vault, containing unique and powerful equipment that could facilitate Rook turn the tide against the Cursed Elf gods that threaten all of Thedas.
However, the Gray Wardens, unwilling to give up their treasures easily, sealed their vault using a series of esoteric mechanisms that were further perverted by the vengeful spirits of the people who died prematurely within the fort.
To claim the riches of the Gray Wardens’ vault for yourself, here’s what you need to do.
How to open the Gray Wardens’ Vault in Dragon Age: Veilguard
While exploring the Gray Wardens’ stronghold on the coast of Rivain, if you come across one of the mechanisms or a sealed vault door in the basement, you will be tasked with opening the Gray Wardens’ vault.
The first seal can be found upstairs, on the level overlooking the main chamber. It can be accessed by stone steps outside the fortress.
To open the seal, turn away from the closed door and go outside. Under the stairs you should find a warehouse filled with boxes and a cart.
Here you will find three shields with three torches. Light the center, then the left, then the right, then return to the locked door where you can pull the lever to the first vault seal.
Then, at the second quest marker, interact with the skeleton.
The ghost will pass through the wall and you must follow him outside to another skeleton scattered among the ruins.
Finally, the ghost jumps to the third skeleton at the front of the fort.
Now go to the main fortress and the ghost will open a secret room at the back of the main hall with another sealed lock which you can now open.
Go to the third marker and utilize Taasha to drop fire on the pot above you and drop the ladder.
At the top, grab the wisp, then go down the ladder and through the door on the left.
Immediately turn left, then utilize Taasha to melt the crystals in front of you. The fire will open the door at the end of the hall, giving you access to the final seal.
It’s time to claim the spoils of your efforts! Go to the main, long room of the keep and go down the stairs to the basement on one side. Open the freshly opened door and you’ll collect a valuable petrified dragon egg and three giant chests. For me, these included armor for Taash, a primary weapon, and a unique ring, but these rewards will vary depending on your starting class.
