Neve can be recruited early on, but her romance may take some time. This is most likely because the game wants you to get to know all of your companions first, though there are still plenty of opportunities to flirt with Neve if you want. Just talk to her in the lighthouse when an exclamation mark or speech bubble appears next to her icon.
Neve’s companion quest “A Port City Study” may be skipped if not completed before recruiting Davrin during the “Guard’s Best Friend” quest. So make sure you complete it early, otherwise you’ll miss out on a precious bonding moment with Neve.
Companion Neve’s second quest is offered much later in the game, approximately 30 hours after completing the “Siege of Weisshaupt” main quest. Then talk to Neve at the lighthouse to receive the quest “The Cobbled Swan Case”.

Key moments to ensure romance with Neve
One of the major decisions regarding Neve comes about 15 hours after recruiting Davrin in the “A Ranger’s Best Friend” quest. Immediately after this quest, Rook must choose between traveling to Minrathous or Treviso to aid the city. If you choose Treviso instead of Minrathous, Neve will temporarily leave the lighthouse and then return when Emmrich and Taash are recruited.
This won’t prevent you from romance Neve, but it will make her “hardened”, meaning your bond rank will be harder to improve and will no longer provide healing abilities in combat. Instead, some skills will offer higher damage. Therefore, if you want to romance Neve more easily, deciding to save Minrathous will be more helpful.
The next key moment will occur approximately 30 hours after completing the “Siege of Weisshaupt” and “The Case of the Cobbled Swan” quests. If you have decided to save Treviso, you will receive the following dialogue options:
- More hard times lie ahead: Cut off any possible affair with Neve.
- I want to be with you: Romance may be possible, depending on past choices. (I won’t lock you into a relationship just yet).

When you reload the Lighthouse area and talk to Neve again, there will be a cutscene with the wisps and a chance to properly express your romantic interests (if you saved Minrathous, you will skip the above exchange and go straight to the next one).
