Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 comes to Nuketown this week as Activision reveals plans for Season 1

Published:

Activision has revealed that Nuketown will be coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on November 1, ahead of Season 1, which arrives on November 14.

Call of Duty blog entry unveiled a wealth of updates planned for the next few weeks, starting with the release of fan-favorite multiplayer map Nuketown. This map is a recreation of the original Nuketown from the first Black Ops game, meaning players can enjoy a 1950s theme and uninhibited chaos.

“This remaster remains extremely faithful to the original map design and layout, even down to the precise placement of parked vehicles and other scenery echoing the original three-lane design,” Activision said.

Two weeks later, the publisher is promising a “massive content drop” in the form of Season 1. Little has been said about the upcoming update, but it will arrive for free in both Black Ops 6 and Warzone and will add modern maps, modes, and more.

“At the start of Season 1, start playing on the new Area 99 Resurgence map in the free Call of Duty: Warzone update,” Activision announced.

“Also located in the Nevada desert, this top-secret government facility is located just a few miles from the original Nuketown location. See where it all began with a tour of the mannequin assembly factory, a factory warehouse that includes pieces of Nuketown homes under construction, and much more when Season 1 begins.”

Black Ops 6 is off to a forceful start, outperforming both Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 on Steam in its opening weekend. Its launch is also special in that it is the first Call of Duty game to appear on Xbox Game Pass on launch day. Analysts expected its release could add up to four million modern users to the subscription service, but at a cost of six million in lost sales.
