How does Technocyte Coda work in Warframe?

As always, you cannot be targeted by the Sister or Lich in their pursuit of Technocyte Coda. To find Technocyte Coda, you will have to defeat infected enemies in Warframe: 1999 contentswhich have a chance to drop a unique item upon death.

You will then take the item to a nearby computer terminal where you will complete a hacking puzzle. Once the puzzle is completed, the process will continue after you withdraw from the mission, much like after capturing a Kuva Lich or Sister Parvos.

Once extracted, you will be able to see your specific Technocyte Code and any corresponding customizations on the splash screen, while your Technocyte Code will rob you of certain resources at the end of the mission until you defeat them, like Sister Parvos or Kuva Lich does.

You can challenge yourself with your Technocyte Coda everyone Warframe: 1999 mission, and once you damage it enough, it becomes vulnerable to Parazon’s attack. However, you will need a up-to-date set of Parazon antivirus mods to operate when fighting Technocyte Coda.

Antivirus mods are obtained through “specialized reward missions” and are thematically related to antivirus companies from 1999. Once you have sufficiently damaged Technocyte Coda and have the Parazon Antivirus mods in the correct order, you will complete the process with the Railjack mission.

As with Sisters or Liches, you can either destroy the Technocyte Code or trade it. The massive change in this system comes down to how you acquire certain weapons. Unlike Liches and Sisters, Technocyte Coda are not tied to a specific weapon.

Instead of seeing the weapon attached before starting the Technocyte Coda process, defeating Technocyte Coda will reward you with currency which you can then spend on the Infested weapon of your choice at a vendor offering a rotating selection of weapons.

It is currently unclear how much currency you will receive for defeating Technocyte Coda, or what the prices of Infected weapons will be. Digital Extremes notes that the rotation will be similar to that of Ergo Glast’s Tenet Weapon, and this system works as follows:

  • There are five weapons available
  • The rotation changes every four days
  • Only one weapon purchase per rotation is allowed
  • Weapons have random bonuses and ancestor upgrades

If the up-to-date vendor performs exactly like Ergo Glast, you can expect the Infected weapon to take much longer to fully upgrade than it would for a Kuva or Tenet weapon. However, Digital Extremes said Technocyte Coda Vendor will be “similar” to Ergo Glastso there may be changes.
