As Nintendo announced in August, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is closing. But this weekend, a paid offline version was revealed to replace it. It’s called Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, and it’s basically the same as Pocket Camp without the microtransactions and gives players either $10 or $20 back, depending on when they make the purchase.
In the movieNintendo has unveiled how Animal Crossing Pocket Camp will work with full data transfer and features compared to the original Pocket Camp. Transferring data from one game to another is quite effortless and only requires linking your Nintendo account to Pocket Camp and then linking the same account to Pocket Camp Complete.
We’ve published a video about the paid version of the app where you can transfer yours #PocketCamp save your data and continue playing. Shares the following information:
・ Information about data transfer
・New featureshttps://t.co/mQeEUMCsnf pic.twitter.com/OailfRVD4U— Pocket_camp (@Pocket_Camp) October 28, 2024
This will transfer almost all critical player data from one game to the next, including level, bells, friendship levels, inventory and storage items, camping, cabin and camper layout, as well as current and saved outfits. Please note that this will only work until Pocket Camp closes on November 29 – after which time you will not be able to link accounts.
The good news is that Pocket Camp Complete is largely just Pocket Camp without the microtransactions. Payment features like Leaf Tickets and Pocket Camp Club are missing, but are replaced with baked-in versions of the same. Pocket Camp Club features are now largely just part of the game, with Leaf Tickets being replaced with Leaf Tokens obtained by completing objectives or trading Bells, which can be used to purchase furniture or reduce crafting time.
Since Pocket Camp Complete is not an online game, the online friends features will also disappear, but will be replaced with a QR code sharing system that will allow you to invite your friends to a novel area called Whistle Pass, where you can receive gifts from them and enjoy the daily KK Slider concert together. You’ll also be able to transfer all your venerable friends from Pocket Camp along with the rest of your data, provided those friends also log in to the game before closing it.
Finally, regular seasonal events will continue to run as before, and novel ones will be added to Pocket Camp Complete. This means that novel items will appear in the game until September 2025, and there will also be paths to collect missed seasonal items and complete your collection without waiting for that specific event to occur again.
This all sounds pretty good: it’s basically Pocket Camp without online features or microtransactions, which alleviates some of the game’s lockup effects. The only downside is the initial cost. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete costs $9.99 as a one-time fee to own the game, which in itself isn’t too bad. However, if you wait to join the game until January 31, 2025 or later, that price will double to $19.99. So if you’re thinking about launching Pocket Camp for the first time or transferring your data, you’d better do it as soon as possible.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete will be released on iOS and Android on December 3, 2024, just a few days after Pocket Camp closes.
