Remedy Entertainment has shared a first look at FBC: Firebreak (codenamed Condor), their first multiplayer game that aims to explore the Control universe from a up-to-date direction.

FBC: Firebreak is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC in 2025. It will be available from day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium.

Update: Platform and release details confirmed by Remedy.

Building on the Remedy-verse, FBC: Firebreak takes place in the Federal Bureau of Control and takes place after the events of Control, giving teams of three players daring missions to undertake against obscure threats to the supernatural institution that is the Oldest House. You are part of a team of first responders in the office, racing to tackle paranormal threats.

Many things are still kept secret, such as the player’s progress and how you will deal with threats, but talking to Xbox cableCommunications Director Thomas Puha shed some airy on the matter: “I can tell you that the Firebreak crew has been allowed to wear ‘paranatural enhancements’, which are Altered Items built into their tools.

Trying to avoid the Game-as-a-Service tag, FBC: Firebreak will feature post-launch content with a steady stream of updates for players aimed at keeping the game fresh and giving them good reasons to come back. I assume we can come up with more Helldivers 2 or Deep Rock Galactic than the time-sucking Destiny 2 and World of Warcraft.
