I’ve been a grumpy venerable man when it comes to Dragon Ball for too long. As a typical Toonami kid who doesn’t read manga and watches mainstream anime, I drew a line in the sand after a few episodes Super Dragon Ball when I first gave it a chance. I had no intention of continuing watching because the first episodes didn’t resemble the action anime I grew up with. Similarly before Spark! ZeroI haven’t played any Dragon Ball video games since then Budokai Tenkaichi 3 as none of the titles released between them lived up to what I considered the quintessential fighting game IP.
Fortunately, time is a flat circle in a culture filled with nostalgia, and today I have a recent one Tenkaichi game in my life. But with the benefit of maturity and looking back, I wonder how much good shit I missed out on by being too true to the anime and fighting games of my childhood. Will this growth and transparency finally compel me to play? Kakorot Or WarriorZ? (*Late The narrator of Dragon Ball voice*) No, probably not. But since then I’ve gone through Beerus’ somewhat youthful opening arc Super Dragon Ball and mostly I enjoy the rest of the show (only Master Zunō himself knows what the future holds for me and ALWAYS).
While I fall deeper into the rabbit holes of both Great AND Spark! Zero, check some My city which made my time with the latter that much more enjoyable.
