Insomniac Games has effectively confirmed that it has ceased development on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and is providing major post-launch support, as stated in Blog about PlayStation post that it is not working on any story DLC for the sequel. As it reveals that the PC version of the game will be released on January 30, 2025, it also states, “We do not plan any additional story content for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.”
The PS5 – and soon PC – title was never released with the promise of future expansions like its predecessor, as the season pass brought news of The City That Never Sleeps DLC, which for the first time included three content updates after the game’s launch. Insomniac Games has never talked about the base version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, so the lack of a corresponding expansion is no surprise at this point.
Of course, the indie developer announced Marvel’s Wolverine a few years ago – which it’s still working on – and last year’s hack talked about a standalone Venom game, similar in style and structure to the PS5 release Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales . It is not yet clear whether this is an ongoing project or not.
