When I first heard about the novel REDMAGIC Nova gaming tablet, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I’ve already reviewed the REDMAGIC 9S Pro gaming phone, which I was pleasantly surprised by (except for the front camera, which I made clear), so for the tablet, I was hoping that the feature I was most afraid of would be adjusted – and it was!
So let’s start mighty! Here’s my review of the REDMAGIC Nova gaming tablet, after spending countless hours playing some of my favorite games. Does it meet expectations? You’ll find out soon.
It has a neat appearance, suitable for gamers
The first thing you notice about the Nova gaming tablet is its distinct design. The design is quite minimalist, except for the strap on the back that houses the cooling system and camera. It looks handsome and even has RGB lighting!
When you think of a gaming tablet, you probably imagine something bulky – but that’s not the case here. I like how slim and featherlight it is, considering the power under the hood.
Let’s talk about the specifications
Now that I’ve mentioned its power, let me briefly mention its specifications so you can understand why I praise it so much.
- Editor: The leading version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
- Memory: UFS4.0+LPDDR5X
- Screen Size: 10.9 inches
- Screen resolution: 1800*2880
- Screen refresh rate: 144 Hz
- Battery: 10,100 mAh battery with 80 W swift charger
- Cooling system: Nine layers of heat dissipation. It features an alloy metal structure that dissipates heat under the screen, superconducting graphene, a copper foil thermal gel motherboard, an internal 3D copper foil circulation air channel, a high-speed centrifugal fan, a 3D heat pipe, and an integrated aircraft-grade aluminum casing.
- Hardware: Fully functional USBC-C port, fingerprint unlocking, NFC TAG
- Software: REDMAGIC OS 9.0 (Android T) Features/Gaming Space/X Gravity Platform/Cross-Screen Connection Specially Adapted for Tablets
- Camera and sound: 20MP front camera, 50MP rear camera, ultra-immersive DTS-X audio, dual X-axis linear motor, 4 speakers
- Material: All-metal, lucid structure with RGB lighting effects
As you can see, it has an integrated cooling system and a powerful processor, so no matter what games I tried (and I tried some extremely demanding ones), the back never once felt warm to the touch. I find this to be a much-needed feature in a gaming tablet, especially since attaching a fan can prove quite tricky (I’m now thinking of my ROG Phone 6D Ultimate with its minuscule attachable cooler).
Enough battery life to survive a power outage
Yes, I had a power outage for about 24 hours and the tablet still worked fine. The longest I had battery life was about 5 days – shocker – with the mention that I didn’t have much time to play during those 5 days, other than about 2-4 hours each time (doing my daily chores). It’s reliable and I’m still a little shocked by it.
Fast charging certainly comes in handy too!

Great gaming performance
During my testing, the REDMAGIC Nova gaming tablet exceeded my expectations. As you probably already know, I play a lot of Cookie Run Kingdom – Very. Well, for those who are not aware, the game is quite CPU intensive. Every device I played on, including my laptop, caused some lag, heat on the device, and eventually a crash. Every problem you can imagine happened.
However, once I installed it and played it consistently, I never once felt like my hands were on fire, experienced any lag, or randomly crashed. This shows how effectively the cooling system works, as well as all the other features, combining them into one unique technology that I think every mobile gamer should invest in.
I’m well aware this isn’t something to say lightly, but honestly, it’s just that Is so good.

But wait, there are no downsides?
Well, I was as surprised as you were. I really can’t fault this product. This is surprising because when I want, I can find something fascinating in almost anything, but when it comes to the REDMAGIC Nova gaming tablet, it can handle everything. Remember this Is gaming tablet, so you can’t insert a SIM card and employ it as a phone.
I mean, I personally don’t care about that aspect. I actually like it because it’s a gaming tablet and I don’t want any distractions – that’s why I have my phone. I noticed that the front camera has been drastically improved (compared to the REDMAGIC 9S Pro) and that’s all I could ask for.
The cameras are great (all of them including the selfie one), it’s swift, responsive and has plenty of storage space, so for me it’s everything I could have hoped for and a little more.
Oh, and if you’re not sure, I have about 10 games that I play every day, so you can imagine that I employ it pretty much non-stop.
If you are interested in getting it, you can buy it on the website REDMAGIC official websitestarting from €499.
