In retro news, I’m celebrating my 32nd birthday Sonic the Hedgehog 2Mandatory Master system. To Sega’s credit, this wasn’t some half-finished, tossed-up version of its older brother Mega. Rather, we have a branded 8-bit adventure with up-to-date Zones, boss battles and, for some reason, hang gliding levels? The only flaw I remember: someone thought the speed-sapping water levels should have come from a 16-bit blueprint, and they sucked harder than a Robotnik-class vacuum robot.

An amazing sequel to Mario Party Superstars and certainly one of the best games in the series. Not only does it faithfully return to the classic formula established in the Nintendo 64 versions, but it definitely improves it. 9/10, amazing.

A great third-person shooter with an engaging story, tons of weapons that are great fun to exploit, and a great variety of enemies to exploit them on. Once again it borrows a lot of its ideas from the Gears of War series, but they are good ideas. 8/10, great.
